Kip Bouknight is a former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for the Colorado Rockies. He was born on September 12, 1978 in Plantation, Florida.
Bouknight was selected by the Rockies in the first round of the 2000 MLB Draft and made his MLB debut on July 10, 2001. He spent a total of three seasons in the majors, pitching primarily as a reliever. Bouknight's best season came in 2002 when he recorded a 4.98 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 34.1 innings pitched.
After his time in the majors, Bouknight continued to play in the minor leagues before retiring from professional baseball in 2008. Following his playing career, he moved into coaching and currently serves as the pitching coach for the West Virginia Power, a minor league affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. Bouknight is known for his knowledge and expertise in pitching mechanics and development.
